Описание: The Kelso Dune area is located in the Mojave National Preserve a few miles South of Kelso. Kelso is about 30 miles South of baker. You can reach the area from the 15 and 40 freeways using the Kelbaker road. The dune area is covering many square miles and the biggest dune is over 600 feet. A roundtrip from the parking lot to the top would take about two hours if you are stressing. Three hours gives you a better experience. If you are planning to hike in the summer time then bring lots of water because you will need it. It can be really warm with temperatures over 100F. These dunes are among the best you can see. Many animals are endemic to the area so enjoy what you find on the way to the top.
