1964 Dodge 440 Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to offer this 1964 Dodge 440 “Max Wedge" for sale right now in our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. This car came from the factory with a 426 CID V8 “street wedge" engine but the dealership the car was sold at switched out the upper end of the motor (single 4 barrel carb, intake, etc) for Stage 3 Max Wedge parts. The block pad stamping on this car reads “V42115HP" which in plain English translates to a 1964 426 CID V8 block from November 5th and “HP" for high performance. This hefty Mopar engine is tied to a 727 3-speed automatic transmission with a push button operation for the driver- VERY cool. The rear end ratio is a Posi 3:23 which is a great combination of cruiser and get-up-and-go. This 1964 Dodge 440 has a really straight body for being 55 years old and amazingly comes with mostly original paint! According to the seller, only the hood and the engine bay has been repainted in black. This is probably thanks to the car being stored in a heated garage for most of its life and well taken care of too. The original dealer sticker from Norms Grand Spaulding in Chicago is still on the back. The current owner claims there have been 4 owners in total with the previous owner having the vehicle for 37 years. What a great addition to your collection this would be!
