Calling in a Muntjac Buck & Wild Garlic Forage

In this episode I'm talking a spring walk in my local woodland to hunt for two separate targets.

Wild foods are starting to show their face all over the woodland edges and floor and this time I'm searching for three cornered leek and also the elusive muntjac, an invasive species of deer here in the UK.

Although I'm not hunting, I'm practicing stalking, identification and calling techniques for my Dsc1 which I'm due to sit in April and enjoy the day learning and revising with my handbook.

I also discuss something really important to me, mens (& women's) mental health which can too often be considered a taboo discussion topic. Its something that not only myself, but a number of people have been trying to break the boundary walls of with the aid of our channels promoting sensible and open discussions on the topic and building a sense of community.

Talking about community, I want to shout out ‪@BackGardenBushcraft‬ ,‪@EastAnglianBushcraft‬ ‎& ‪@HazeOutdoors‬ for their parts in spreading the word about this important subject, also @bellows.ben @4958stanton @drabbers_into_the_bush @leeclackson @poshrat1095 & the countless others that have been such an amazing group of people to be sharing my journey with through the ups and downs.

With that being said I wanted to start a #forageforfreedom movement in which people can share their journeys getting out into the outdoors to clear away the negativity by discovering new wild plants, animal species or locations and adding the hashtag so that we can all learn and see them together.
