In this video, we take a look at an older Philips CFL. This particular lamp is part of the SLS line of self-ballasted CFLs, which encompasses a wide array of types and wattages of CFLs all sporting the same triple-tube side-by-side design. Most of Philips' SLS CFLs were low power factor, like most SBCFLs, but this particular 20W example from 1997 appears to be some kind of high power factor variant, most likely a commercial-grade offering. While the regular SLS 20W is rated at 285mA, this version is rated at only 175mA, and its real power draw matches very closely to its theoretical power draw.
Upon powering up the unit, it seems to function as you'd expect. It has a 2700K color temperature and decent CRI for the time. The bulb is a 75W incandescent equivalent, and it seems to match that brightness description, but a downside to the side-by-side layout of the tubes is that there is a gap in the light distribution where the inside of the tubes is. The bulb is similar in width to an incandescent bulb, but it is about 1.5 times as tall. According to the Kill-A-Watt meter, the bulb actually draws slightly less current and power than what it claims, 150mA instead of 175, and 18W instead of 20. But the power factor is .98, which is indeed very good for a SBCFL.
