Today on History with Tym we will be discussing one of the most important players in the history of the American Civil War and that is General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, or more commonly known as PGT Beauregard.
Beauregard was a young and upcoming officer in the United States Army when the American Civil War broke out. In fact he was becoming the Superintendent of West Point when the war broke out.
He would spend 1861-1865 at the heart of the Confederate war effort and surrender to William T. Sherman with Joseph E. Johnston in 1865. Then he would return to civilian life and live as a rail engineer and a civil advocate.
Join us today as we go into the history of this fascinating player of the American Civil War, and the era that followed.
