Skilled fighters who are able to control their power and pull their punches can benefit greatly from positional grappling drills with striking while wearing MMA gloves, because the gloves change the surfaces and dynamics of grappling to a significant degree. Otherwise I would recommend wearing the extra padded hybrid sparring gloves or boxing gloves for sparring sessions focusing primarily on exchanging strikes.
