Stargardt Eye Doc, a YouTube channel for people with Stargardt Disease

Описание: In my experience, people with Stargardt Disease are especially appreciative of the improved vision that they experience with low vision glasses. Because they are young, many are students, many have jobs or are raising a family. The benefit of increased independence that telescopic glasses provide makes their lives much easier and more enjoyable.
Often people with Stargardt Disease have learned how to use cell phones or tablets to help with reading. When they come to me most of them request help with distance vision. They want to be able to drive, watch their children play sports, recognize people’s faces or see screens or monitors in school. Help with these activities is available and has been for many years. Unfortunately, people with Stargardt are often unaware of what is available and how to access it.
My new YouTube channel, [email protected] has videos describing various types of low vision glasses, how they help and how to obtain them. There are videos of some of my Stargardt patients describing their experiences with bioptic telescopic glasses that I prescribed for them. More videos will be added regularly.
People with Stargardt want to be independent. My hope is that my YouTube channel will provide the information that they need to achieve that goal.
