A severe Polar Vortex hit Ontario, and was expected to begin on Friday(January 23,2026). We went to Toronto because it’s Septo’s maintenance due date and we didn’t know that Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and large part of Ontario(Toronto was part of this Province and this is our Province too😊)and Quebec are under cold warnings, plunging temperatures 10*C-20*C below seasonal averages and triggering extreme cold warnings across the province. The arctic air mass brought wind chill of -30*C to -40*C with significant snow squall and dangerous conditions
I did research what is Polar Vortex so I will be knowledgeable on terms they’re using.
And as I create content I want to empower my knowledge😊
The Polar Vortex is the circling high-altitude winds that acts like a fast-spinning barrier to keep frigid air locked over the North Pole.
Every so often gets knocked off kilter by big atmospheric wave, when that happens, arctic air can spill south, raising the risk of severe winter weather
