Programme Note
This work "Celebration and Dance" portrays the scene of festival in Melaka, Malaysia where the different races of people are celebrating and dancing together in the festival. The composer is inspired by the unique music culture of Baba Nyonya (Peranakan) and the rhythm from Malay and Indian.
這首Celebration and Dance要呈現的是個大種族在馬來西亞的節慶上一起歡樂和舞蹈的氣氛。作曲家也在旋律和節奏上引用了個大種族的音樂素材。曲子的前段是以很優美的Gamelan旋律引導，這也是作曲家引用了馬六甲娘惹獨特的音樂素材。
