Daily maintenance includes the reagent replacement and shutdown procedures. Weekly maintenance is running the Cell Clean Auto through the machine. Cell Clean Auto is a 5% bleach solution that removes residue from the anlyzer's tubing. Since we have Hematology class once every week, we do both daily and weekly maintenance on the same day. The analyzer is off the remaining part of the week.
This video shows the weekly maintenance procedure of rinsing the analyzer tubing with Cell Clean Auto. Also described are the two situations in which students would need to perform the procedure. Those two situations include 1) at the beginning of class ONLY IF the analyzer was off for more than a week and 2) at the end of class as a weekly maintenance procedure.
