Fake Currency Racket: ₹7 Lakh in Notes Were Circulated?

Описание: A fake currency racket with alleged links to Goa has surfaced
after four youths were arrested in Belagavi for circulating
counterfeit ₹500 notes.
Police investigations have revealed that the accused had travelled
from Goa carrying fake currency worth around ₹7 lakh, sources said.
The group allegedly entered local markets in Belagavi and began using
the counterfeit notes in small transactions to generate genuine cash
as change.
According to inputs, the accused would purchase low-value items
and pay using fake ₹500 notes, receiving the balance in real
currency. This method was reportedly used at multiple locations to
convert fake notes into legal tender.
The operation came to light after a local trader identified a
counterfeit note, following which the accused were apprehended and
handed over to the police.
