Camping, hiking, 4wding and coloured sands, this place really has the lot!
Located just north of Cooktown (out from Hope Vale) Eddies Campgrounds is the perfect base point to access both Cape Bedford to the east and Elim Beach to the west. The campground is privately run and located right on the beachfront.
In this video I want to quickly share a few of the absolute must do’s while you’re on the lower Cape York Peninsula and why you might like to stick around for a day or two. I particularly loved this location and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get out in the area! I’d also recommend if you can to to go by 4wd, the campground is easily accessible by conventional vehicle but as you’ll see taking the tracks is a lot of fun and well worth while if you’re up for it!
