Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) is the 18th chapter of the Holy Qur’an, consisting of 110 verses, revealed in Makkah. It is a profound Surah that addresses themes of faith, trials, divine wisdom, knowledge, power, and accountability. The Surah derives its name from the remarkable story of the “People of the Cave,” a group of young believers who sought refuge in a cave to protect their faith, and whom Allah preserved for centuries as a sign of His power.
According to authentic Hadith, reciting Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays brings spiritual illumination and protection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever recites it on Friday will have a light shining for him between two Fridays, and memorizing its first or last ten verses serves as protection from the trial of Dajjal.
