Rooted in ancestral honor and community power, the African Village pulsed with the spirit of those who came before us—those who dreamed, built, and protected the beauty we now call Leimert Park.
From the libation ceremony to the vibrant procession, every drumbeat and dance step echoed with gratitude for the ancestors who paved the way and those who continue to uplift this sacred space. The theme, Sesa Wo Suban—"Change and Transformation"—reminded us that honoring the past is how we shape the future.
