The 37 bus route in London has a history dating back to the early 20th century,originally running between Peckham and Isleworth. The route also gained a night bus variant (N37) in 1997,which later became a 24-hour service.

EARLY DAYS: The route began with operations by London Generals petrol buses, Thomas Tillings petrol-electric buses, and National Steam Car Company’s steam buses.
WORLD WAR 1: The route was operated with naptha-powered vehicles during this period.
1930s: Five open-top AEC Regent 1 double-decker buses were ordered for the route,which then ran between Peckham and Richmond.
1980s: The route was split into two sections due to congestion: Peckham to Putney/Richmond and Clapham Common to Hounslow.
1991: The route was shortened to run between Peckham and Putney.
1997: A night bus variant,N37, was introduced and later became a 24-hour service in 2004.
2004: The route transitioned to low-floor operation.
