+ IMPORTANT - AVOID DAMAGING BOLT AND SCREW HEADS + +
For screws and bolts this small, use QUALITY hex and Phillips screw drivers, and make sure they are FIRMLY seated in the head before turning. The HUB BOLTS usually have a threadlock compound on them, and can be hard to loosen the first time. BE CAREFUL. If you attempt to use an old, worn, or low-quality hex driver, like a random Allen key found in the bottom of a toolbox, or from a discount retail tool store, it is very likely you will damage the screw or bolt head. Some of these screws and bolts may be hard to replace, or if damaged before removing, could result in not being able to remove a part of the wheel base to complete the installation. If the head of a screw or bolt is damaged, there are procedures and tools that can be used to remove them.

*THRUSTMASTER T-GT OWNERS: The TM-QUICK-R can also be installed on the T-GT. The internal components of that wheelbase are 95% identical. The housing and screw locations are different, and it doesn't have the "Racer" wheel bases' side panels--the pieces are actually a little easier to remove.

ONLY the "beauty ring" and top section of the housing needs to be removed. DO NOT remove the front piece with the deep recessed screws, as it's not necessary. Below is a link to an excellent video on Youtube that demonstrate how to do this. Once the top is removed, follow the same procedures in this guide.

*T500RS OWNERS -- Standoffs for the hub mounting bolts are required so the current version of the TM-QUICK-R will fit and won't rub on the cover ring. An alternative version may be available if there is enough demand for it. Leave a comment below if you have a T500RS.

ADDITIONAL BLACK WIRE: On some units, the additional black wire is not soldered to the circuit board, but is connected to another plug. This black wire will still need to be cut to remove the DIN cable, then reconnected or re-soldered.
