Описание: Last week, the Israeli government stripped the Palestinian Authority of its planning and construction powers in Hebron’s H2 area. In other words, Israel has given itself the authority to build within the Cave of the Patriarchs, a site holy to both Muslims and Jews, and to establish settlements in parts of Hebron where more than 30,000 Palestinians live. Previously, such projects required approval from the Palestinian Authority. The decision also gives Israel the authority to build within the Tomb of Othniel ben Kenaz, located in the part of Hebron administered by the Palestinian Authority.
