A routine archival review leads to the recovery of a misclassified cassette labeled only with a single handwritten word: “Warm.”

What begins as a standard digitization task gradually unfolds into a layered case file — incomplete sensor data, inconsistent maintenance logs, and a final recording that ends without explanation. The materials describe a remote northern weather site, a technician’s altered perception of temperature, and a shutdown procedure for a system that does not exist in the official schematics.
Months later, a civilian recovery report reframes the case. A missing weather technician is found dead in the same region during a blizzard. Cause of death: hypothermia. The audio recordings are reclassified as a documented instance of temperature inversion delusion — a known cognitive response under extreme environmental exposure.The archive accepts the explanation. The classification is updated. The case is closed.
But the records remain preserved exactly as found.
This story is presented in a procedural, documentary format. No dramatization. No exaggeration. Only the materials, the logs, and the classifications that define them.
