The family of William and Mildred Witters are calling on the Michigan Supreme Court to undo an April ruling that is giving hundreds of convicted killers the chance to be resentenced.
Johnathan Thomas and Christopher Maye were 19 at the time of the murders.
It makes them eligible for a reduced sentence under the ruling that bans mandatory life sentences for 19 and 20 year olds convicted of first degree murder.
In 1994, Thomas and Maye broke into the Witters' home in Portage and stabbed them to death.
