I don't understand the dust collection hookup on my Grizzly 17" Bandsaw.

I own a G0513X bandsaw. I bought it used, 9 years ago, but Grizzly still sells three or four variations on this design, and the dust collection hookups look like they're still the same.

The Dust collection from the lower cabinet is fine, no complaints.

The Dust collection up under the table by the saw blade though, is not perfect. Their upper dust port opens into this tiny triangular space. I don't understand how they expect there to be enough air flow to do much dust collection. And regardless, there still is all that space above cabinet -- between the cabinet and the underside of the table, which collects dust.

In this video I'm trying to see if I can improve on that. It's a series of experiments to see what I can learn.
