Using corrugated cardboard (typically free from the recycle bin) and chipboard (very low cost from Amazon), I have found that I can build some very lightweight yet very sturdy and durable projects. My message here is that you do not need expensive materials or tools to build some durable items which you can use everyday. I find as I get older, I have less tolerance for loud noises. Whenever I am in my shop using a loud power tool like the BladeRunner or a shop vac, I wear these earmuffs.
