The TBA150 battery tester will be used to examine the state of the traction battery of a lead-acid battery.
The presented device supports 24V, 48V, 80V voltage at the current from 5 to 150A.
It also supports other battery voltages within the range of 18V to 80V at the current from 5A up to 100A.
The company offer also includes devices which support other voltages and higher currents.
The basic test is conducted by using the program of 5-hour current discharge time.
A small weight of the device and its construction which enables moving it in a horizontal position make it convenient for fieldwork.
Before conducting the battery test it is worth remembering that a valid test can be performed only with a fully charged battery. Therefore, before proceeding with the test the rectifier should be connected and the battery should be charged.
Only after such preparation can the test be started.
The device wiring should be connected.
The tester is protected against incorrect connecting. In the event of incorrect connecting the user will be informed about the reverse polarization of the battery.
After the start-up the device will automatically detect the tested battery parameters.
The first step is to check whether the voltage detected by the device is correct.
The initial screen enables setting the discharge current value, final voltage value of a separate cell.
The number of the bank where the test results will be saved can also be determined. There are 16 memory banks to be used.
Then the type of operation should be determined.
After setting proper parameters the process of battery test can be started.
When the tester work has been initiated, the set parameters can be seen and the status of the process and of the device can be tracked on an ongoing basis.
The device ceases to work when the battery achieves the final voltage declared in the settings.
After completion of the test its results may be stored on a medium such as a memory stick.
Data are saved in CSV format and can be viewed in spreadsheets.
The data can also be read as a text file.
Q - charge collected from the discharging battery
E - energy collected from the discharging battery
U - present voltage of the discharging battery
Ir - set discharge current (its correction by means of an adjuster is possible)
t - remaining discharge time
G - the number of enabled resistors enforcing the discharge current
Tk - resistance chamber temperature
