Jack Beatty is a veteran political commentator–journalist, author, senior editor at the Atlantic and one of the hosts on NPR On Point. I did this interview with him back in 1989 as part of a television series I was making on the 1960s and people's remembrances of that time. Jack Beatty was and is known as outspokenly able to describe things as he sees them. I found him entertaining to listen to–blunt–clearheaded–energetic. When looking at this clip for selection to present to my subscribers these days, I found what he was talking about very relevant to some of the Dialogue Taking Pl. in America today. Not only on segregation. But on Pres. Richard Nixon in his final days and how some feel about the political situation today. It seemed to me there were parallels and that is why I present this to you now for your consideration.
