Purpose:
The purpose of my project is to establish an organic sustainable farm on the beautiful island of Ibiza. This farm will focus on producing high-quality organic micro-greens and gourmet mushrooms while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The project aims to provide a locally sourced, environmentally friendly vertical alternative to conventional farming methods and contribute to the island's food security and self-sufficiency.
Goals:
1 Organic Farming: Implementing organic vertical farming techniques to grow a wide variety of micro-greens and gourmet mushrooms without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
2 Sustainable Practices: Emphasising sustainable agricultural practices such as water conservation, soil health management, and energy-efficient systems. Minimizing the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the farm operations.
3 Local Food Production: Increasing the availability of fresh, locally grown organic produce and gourmet mushrooms to the residents and visitors of Ibiza. Reducing reliance on imported food and supporting the local economy.
4 Education and Awareness: Conducting workshops, training sessions, and educational tours to raise awareness about organic farming, sustainable agriculture, and the benefits of consuming locally grown, organic produce. Promoting the importance of sustainable food systems and their positive impact on health and the environment.
5 Collaboration and Community Engagement: Establishing partnerships with local restaurants, markets, and community organizations to foster collaboration and create a sustainable food network in Ibiza. Encouraging community participation in farm activities, volunteering, and farm-to-table initiatives.
