Champion Leaders and More - Railfanning the Florida East Coast Railway

Описание: During February, my pals Joe, Adam (Norfolk7130) and Carson took a weeklong vacation in Florida to escape the bitter cold and snow that has been plaguing the home state of Pennsylvania for what feels like forever now. It was a very eventful week, starting off with the Daytona 500 and continued on as well made our way through the sunshine state, admiring the sights, sounds, the food and drinks and of course, the trains. The first video for my first time in Florida will cover a few trains that we caught on Monday February 16th along the Florida East Coast Railway. Starting out along the Main Line in the town of Edgewater, we'd catch three trains here, Southbound 103 and Northbound 202 and 204. While both the 103 and 202 sported GEVO leader's in the new "Blue Ferromex" scheme of FEC's new owners, Grupo Mexico, we'd catch a real winter with 204. With a Champion Scheme SD40-2 and a GP40-2 slugging it out with a large mixed freight, we'd give a little chase to them, beating them to Saint Augustine where they cross the San Sebastian River over an old school bridge that looks to be replaced soon. After grabbing lunch at Buc-ees, we'd reemerge trackside once again for southbound priority intermodal 105, which had one of the last Champion GEVOs leading. With high speed and fairly scheduled freight trains, long and mixed consists of Intermodal, Autos, Tropicana Reefers, stone and much more and neat paint schemes all around, the Florida East Coast was very cool to see, and I was happy to cross it off my list.
