Movie Score Comparison Clips - Eurythmics vs. Dominic Muldowney.
Virgin Films commissioned Eurythmics to score the film with a marketable electronic synth sound for the movie’s 1984 release.
Director Michael Radford preferred a traditional orchestral score by composer Dominic Muldowney, which matched the tone of his film. Virgin Films had final cut.
Criterion’s DVD and Blu-ray offers both tracks. What follows is my edit of three scenes, so the viewer can experience the difference.
