Zombie Army 4: Dead War has a mode called Horde that you can play independently of the story missions. Horde mode pits you on your own (solo) or with other players online (coop) against waves of zombies of various types, all wanting to either chop down on you, slash at you, saw you in half, gun you down, or barbeque you to a crisp. These waves become progressively harder and you must use your wit, spatial awareness, and tactical thinking to maneuver and mow down your undead guests. Zombie Army 4: Dead War Horde Mode is a blast to play, especially in coop mode. It’s a ton of fun to play and to watch.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War plays like a third-person (over-the-shoulder) arcade shoot 'em up. It feels reminiscent of Call of Duty Zombies mixed with the accuracy required from a Sniper Elite game plus nostalgic references to other games and movies in the genre. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a game that does not take itself too seriously. It's great fun playing its solo campaign or online coop. Don't expect a modern-graphics, AAA game here, because that's not what Zombie Army 4 is about. It executes a rather simple formula, but does it well. It keeps you on your toes while not burdening you with a heavy story. Dead War is all about steady, fast-paced action that reminds you to keep your wits about you.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a third-person video game released on February 4, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, a game published and developed by Rebellion. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a sequel to the 2015 Zombie Army Trilogy which was a spin-off of the popular Sniper Elite series, using the Sniper Elite engine which includes the famous X-Ray kill cam. Zombie Army 4: Dead War gameplay includes three modes: Campaign, Horde, and Weekly Events. Each mode can be played on Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulties and can be played as solo or online coop with up to 1-4 players. Zombie Army 4: Dead War gameplay uses the cinematic X-Ray Kill Cam from the Sniper Elite series, letting you watch your amazingly placed shots wreck havoc within the innards of your zombie victims. Gameplay is further made interesting with environmental traps to trigger, different zombie types, varying mission locations and objectives, and a variety of gadgets at your disposal.
