Captured here is what became known as the '7pm Cheer' in early 2020, as the COVID-19 Pandemic was raging in Canada and around the world. In several Canadian provinces, people started to show their support for the frontline healthcare and essential workers by cheering, clapping, and making as much noise as possible every evening at 7pm, so that the heroes working despite the danger of the virus would hear their encouragement! It was not long before local emergency services joined in on the trend and made noise with impromptu lights and siren parades, usually passing by city hospitals and emergency rooms to the delight of the medical workers.
In this video, you will see the 7pm Cheer taking place in front of Lions Gate Hospital in the City of North Vancouver. On a cold and rainy evening in March, the West Vancouver Police Department showed up here to make some noise with their awesome patrol cars!
You will also see clips of the City of North Vancouver Fire Department responding to a structure fire call. I managed to catch this right after the 7pm parade as the fire station is very close to the hospital.
Enjoy the video and let me know what you think of the vehicles in the comments!
