Global Forest Watch (GFW) provides the most up to date forest data available online for free, offering unprecedented transparency on the state of forests worldwide.
Experts from GFW and the University of Maryland (UMD) Global Land Analysis & Discovery (GLAD) Lab provide an overview of the methodology behind core forest change datasets on GFW, including the GLAD deforestation alerts and annual tree cover loss data.
