Описание: ​ @Gocciedimemoria Oreste Leonardi (Torino, 10 giugno 1926 – Roma, 16 marzo 1978) è stato un carabiniere italiano, capo della scorta di Aldo Moro; fu ucciso nell'agguato di via Fani.Rimase orfano del padre Ernesto, brigadiere dell'Arma dei Carabinieri morto per tumore durante la seconda guerra mondiale nel febbraio 1944.Raggiunse il grado di maresciallo maggiore nel 1973.Il 16 marzo 1978 era a Roma, capo della scorta del presidente democristiano; sedeva sul sedile anteriore destro della Fiat 130 che trasportava il politico dalla sua abitazione alla sede della Camera dei deputati. Fu probabilmente il primo ad essere colpito dal fuoco dei terroristi; Leonardi, la cui pistola Colt 38 si trovava in un borsello riposto sotto il sedile, fu colto di sorpresa e non ebbe modo di rispondere al fuoco.Morì con 9 proiettili in corpo di cui uno che lo colpì all'altezza del cuore.

Oreste Leonardi (Turin, 10 June 1926 – Rome, 16 March 1978) was an Italian carabiniere, head of Aldo Moro's escort; he was killed in the ambush in via Fani. He was left orphaned by his father Ernesto, a brigadier of the Carabinieri who died of cancer during the Second World War in February 1944. He reached the rank of major marshal in 1973. On 16 March 1978 he was in Rome, head of the Christian Democratic president's escort; he sat on the front right seat of the Fiat 130 which transported the politician from his home to the seat of the Chamber of Deputies. He was probably the first to be hit by terrorist fire; Leonardi, whose Colt 38 pistol was in a bag stored under the seat, was taken by surprise and had no way to return fire. He died with 9 bullets in his body, one of which hit him at heart level.
