Is it true that God limited humanity's lifespan to 120 years? Well, the idea comes from Genesis chapter 6 where it says, "The Lord said, 'My spirit will not contend with humans forever. They are mortal. Their days will be 120 years.'" So when you look through Genesis, you're seeing that people like Adam would live to 930 years old. Seth, his son, would be 912 years old. So it seems like God is saying, "All right, there's going to be a cap on how long people can live." But I think there's a better interpretation. I think really what we're seeing is God is prophesying that 120 years from this day a flood is going to come to the earth and destroy most of humanity. And I think that's a better interpretation because we can see that just generations later Abraham is going to be born and he's going to die at 175 years old.
