Описание:
An eastern gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) collecting acorns for the winter in the Pacific Northwest. And while doing that preparation work, some acorns have to get eaten along the way.
Eastern gray squirrels are native to eastern North America, but have become a introduced and invasive species in western Canada (particularly Calgary and SW British Columbia), western United States, South Africa, Ireland, Hawaii, Bermuda, Madeira Island, the Azores, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Italy and the United Kingdom. They displace native species of squirrels, perhaps most notably the red squirrel in Europe.
According to historic records, undisturbed populations of eastern gray squirrels used to be predominately black in colour. Today, they are mostly gray, but brown, black, and white colorations are common also.
