Why buying tech "brand new" is overrated

I know I've been making a lot of vids around my MacBook, which I did buy brand new (ofc with tons of discounts lol) but still- in reality, almost all of the tech you see in my videos from my lenses, apple watch, and monitor to all my cameras and microphones was NOT bought brand new
So here are some of my thoughts, and why I think it should be much more popular to buy used, refurbished, or open box when it comes to tech :)
