About the Interviewee:
Steve Hernandez started in the water industry as a summer hire in 1999. He has held almost all field positions in distribution, production water quality and treatment, and has been in management for the past 12 years. He started @WaterWisePro on Instagram to learn more about the industry and how other water professionals are doing their jobs. This venture quickly turned into, not only a training program for water distribution and treatment operators but a culture that encourages, personal and professional growth, along with pride of the and commitment by all to strengthen the industry.

He is a California State Water Resource Control Board Grade 5 Distribution Operator and a Grade 4 Treatment Operator. He is a Water Services Division Manager on the Central California Coast, a Consultant/ Influencer for the American Water Works Assoc. and the Assistant Director of Education for the California/Nevada AWWA Section.

He has trained over 3,000 California Distribution and Treatment Operators in the past 3 1/2 years through WaterWisePro Training
