Night time shots will slow the shutter speed. Narrow aperture for maximum depth of field will also result in longer exposure. This is the low light situation of night photography.
As a result, images captured in this low light environment will make moving lights into light trails, flowing water will looked silky blur and moving people will be blurred out or not visible in the image.
In order to get these effects, you need this set up :-
☑️ Camera. DSLR, Mirrorless or even a point and shoot with fixed lens can be used.
☑️ Wide angle lens. Lens of 16mm, 18mm and 24mm would be great for this type of shoot.
☑️ Lens hood. Helps to prevent stray lights getting to the lens. Stray lights will spoil your picture if it doesn’t compliment as part of the creative effects.
☑️ Tripod is a must. Mount your camera on a sturdy tripod. No flimsy tripod to avoid camera shake which you will end up with blurry photos.
☑️ Remote trigger. Avoid camera shake by using a remote trigger without touching the camera’s shutter.
You can download your camera’s phone apps to your smartphone and use that as a remote trigger too.
☑️ In addition to that, bring enough spare batteries and memory cards.
