James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is reportedly "upset" but "resigned" to Amazon MGM Studios taking creative control of the franchise, following the announcement that she and Michael G. Wilson are stepping back. Insiders suggest the deal might not have happened if a clear successor to Daniel Craig had been found. Despite meetings with several actors, no frontrunner emerged. Broccoli and Wilson will still co-own Bond’s intellectual property but will focus on other projects. Amazon, which acquired MGM in 2022, now leads the future of the iconic 007 series.
