STORYLINE:

A confessed U-S paedophile who is one of F-B-I's ten most-wanted fugitives the was arrested in Bangkok on Tuesday.

Thai police have said he's likely to be extradited to the United States.

Eric Franklin Rosser, who is 49 and a former concert pianist, was arrested by Thai police and F-B-I officers on his way to a language school in the capital where he was training to be an English language teacher.

He had returned to Thailand two months ago - on a fake US passport - despite jumping bail here last year when he faced trial for possession of child pornography and lewd behaviour.

Before being led by police on a search of his Bangkok apartment, Rosser told reporters "I'm not the evil man everyone thinks I am. I love Thailand, that's why I'm back here again."

Police said pornographic videos and photographs were found at the Bangkok house where he had been staying.

A U-S embassy official said that Rosser had been taking an eight-week teaching course with the goal of taking up a job tutoring children in northern Thailand.

She added that the United States was seeking his extradition.
