Tekken 3 [PS1] - play as True Ogre

True Ogre is the final boss of the game, and this is his 2nd form. He is an unlockable playable character.

===== ABOUT TRUE OGRE =====

The 1st form of him, called Ogre or Ancient Ogre, is a creature known as Toshin, which literally means "God of Fighting". His powers are considered to be equal to the Mishima clan and Kazama clan. In Tekken 3, he targets and attacks martial arts masters all over the world before absorbing their ki energy and abilities into his own being. This form of him was defeated by Paul Phoenix, which Paul actually left the scene before Ogre transformed into True Ogre, meaning that Paul was unaware of it.

The 2nd form of him, called True Ogre, is basically a beast. When in this form, he loses the ability to speak and acts like a wild beast, however he also gains the ability to fly and breathe fire. This form of him was eventually defeated by Jin Kazama after Paul Phoenix left the scene early after beating the 1st form of Ogre.

Gameplay-wise, this guy's fighting style is mostly the same as the 1st form of him (Ancient Ogre), meaning that he is basically made up of moves from various other Tekken characters... mostly ones from the prequel games who are not present in Tekken 3. Such characters include Baek, Wang, Bruce, Jun, Lee, Kunimitsu, Ganryu and Armor King. In the Arcade version, Anna would be among these characters because she wasn't in that version of the game.

True Ogre does have some unique moves of his own however, and these moves include the two fire-breathing moves, a series of tail attacks, a horn attack and a flying swoop move when he gets up from the ground. He loses the Ancient Power move that the 1st form of him has though.

===== INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====

---- He is called True Ogre on the versus and ranking screens. His name is just Ogre on the character select screen and under his lifebar in gameplay.

---- In single-player mode, if the player uses Heihachi and beats 1st form Ogre, Ogre will absorb Jin's power instead of Heihachi to become True Ogre.

---- Whenever his second form True Ogre is in battle, the stage background will always be pitch black except for the ground.

---- He and an advanced version of him appears in the Devil Within mode in the PS2 version of Tekken 5.

---- In single-player mode, he still fights against himself as the last boss.

===== ABOUT PS1 TEKKEN 3 =====

This is one of the best fighting games in the PS1, and it is actually better than the Arcade version due to having a few more hidden characters and having loads of features and extra modes of play. It also features an Arranged soundtrack, with the option of switching to the original Arcade tunes.

The graphics are slightly inferior to the Arcade version of course, but the extra features more than make up for that. This is likely the best they could have done on the PS1 hardware and it's very close to the Arcade game.
