Описание: It was built of cast iron and stuccoed brick in 1876 by Nevada Lodge No. 1 of the Knights of Pythias, which had been formed on March 23, 1873. It is one of the few unaltered false-fronted buildings remaining in Virginia City. With the Rococo flourishes similar to the Gillig Block Building, Greek Revival is a style inspired by the symmetry, proportion, and simplicity of ancient Greek temples. This style was popular in the U.S., reaching its peak right before the Civil War. True to its name, Greek Revival style architecture flourished in the late 18th and early 19th centuries throughout northern Europe, the United State, Canada and Greece following the nation’s independence.
