Toronto 1982 - Cold Cases Solved : Canada in Shock As One Killer Behind Three Murders.
In this respectful true crime documentary and cold case review, we explore the December 2025 breakthrough that linked three historic Toronto homicides spanning 1982–1997. Christine Prince (25, Barbados-born, 1982), Claire Samson (young woman, 1983), and Gracelyn Greenidge (Barbados-born, 1997) were sexually assaulted and killed. Previously treated as unconnected, DNA matching and genetic genealogy identified the same perpetrator: Kenneth Smith (deceased 2019). Smith was incarcerated for violent crimes 1983–1999—yet the murders occurred before, during, and after that period. Toronto Police Service (TPS) and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced on December 11, 2025: cases solved and exceptionally cleared (no prosecution possible).
We narrate each woman’s life with care—Christine and Gracelyn’s shared Barbados heritage, their individuality in Toronto, and the absence of visible links. Police described the killings as “crimes of opportunity.” Possibility of additional victims noted. This landmark case highlights the DNA revolution in Canadian cold cases.
If you value thoughtful true crime narration, real cold case breakthroughs, family advocacy stories, and documentary-style analysis of justice, this episode is for you.
