フジミ模型 1/24 トヨタ S800

スポーツカーは初めて作ります。
記念すべき1台目です。
トヨタの昭和のスポーツカーは2000GTにしても流線形が本当にカッコ良いです。
S800を作って2000GTも作りたくなりましたが、あの名車にして決定的な模型がないんですね。
アオシマもハセガワもエンジンレス、あっても高価です。中古を探すことにします。

*組み立て
エンジン
エンジン部位はネットに溢れるばかりに写真ありますので参考にしてディテールアップしました。
あまり適当にするとS800のファンの方に怒られてしまいますので、トヨタがS800を作った姿勢にリスペクトして、それらしくをモットーにして作りました。
このフジミのキットはエンジンの部品点数は少ないですが、それなりに仕上がる優れた設計ですね。
その一つにモールドがしっかりしているからだと思います。
それと空冷なんですが、シロッコファンがとても未来的に見えます。
調べると、エンジンはパブリカ系のエンジンだとか・・・。
いいですね、ホンダのSとは設計思想が違うように思います。
機械科の高校生が先生と知恵を巡らし整備して、レースに出るみたいな夢のある車だと思います。

ボンネット開閉
エンジンを作り込みましたので、当然ボンネットは開けたいものです。
ドア開閉は手間と、多少なりともディテールが壊れるので理由がない限り行いませんが、キット的にボンネット開けてよと言われんばかりの形状なので開けました。
リアは開けていません。
真鍮パイプに真鍮線を通してコの字に曲げれば完成です。
コの字の幅はボンネットのヒンジの位置に合わせて曲げます。
注意点はボディ側に真鍮パイプを接着しますが、ボディが湾曲しているのでプラ板を挟むと真鍮パイプに妙なテンションかかりません。

*塗装
ボディが流線形でとてもかっこいいので、特にヘッドライトのラインが横から見ると秀逸です。
ここがちょうど別パネルで組み立てられているようでしたので、ここを赤にして流れるラインを際立てようと思いました。
赤と来れば、白、青です。
フランスの国旗です。
ただこのカラーリングは派手です。
一点、屋根を地味なグレーにしてビンテージ感出しました。
塗装に関しては、モノコック形状のようなフォルムですので、面ごとにボリューム感出るように筆塗りで控えめに明暗つけています。
あっ、カーモデルの正統派のピカピカではありませんが、艶消しと半艶の中間程度に希釈してコートしています。
洗車しない車が雨に濡れて、当然撥水なんてしない水の膜が車体に一皮へばりついたような艶感です。

次は2000GTと言いたいところですが、ライバルでも設計思想の違うホンダS600を作ります！

The streamlined body of a Toyota sports car is really cool on both the S800 and 2000GT.
Next I want to make 2000GT.

engine
There are many pictures of the engine of this car on the internet, so I improved the details by referring to the pictures.
This Fujimi kit has a small number of engine parts, but it can be finished precisely.
I think one of the reasons is that the mold is solid.
It's also air-cooled, but sirocco fans look very futuristic.
When I investigated, the engine was a publica engine ...
Good, I think the design concept is different from Honda's S.
I think it's a car with a dream that a high school student in the mechanical department will work with his teacher to maintain it and race.

Opening and closing the hood
Since I built the engine, I naturally want to open the hood.
I will not open and close the door unless there is a reason because it is troublesome and the details will be broken to some extent, but I opened it because it is a shape that I was told to open the bonnet like a kit.
Pass the brass wire through the brass pipe and bend it into a U shape to complete.
The width of the U-shape is bent according to the position of the hinge of the bonnet.
The point to note is that the brass pipe is glued to the body side, but since the body is curved, if you sandwich the plastic plate, the brass pipe will not be subject to strange tension.

Painting
The body is streamlined and very cool, so the headlight lines are especially good when viewed from the side.
I decided to make this part red to emphasize the flowing lines.
Red, white and blue.
This is a tricolor color and is the same as the French flag.
However, this coloring is flashy.
One point, the roof is plain gray to give it a vintage feel.
Since the car body is shaped like a monocoque, it is lightly shaded with a brush to give each side a voluminous feel.
Oh, it's not an orthodox shiny car model, but it's diluted and coated in the middle of a matte and semi-glossy car.

Next, I will make a Honda S600 sports car!
