How you breathe is directly connected to how you feel, and we’re going to use that to our advantage. With the right technique, you can release tension, slow your heart rate, and quiet the storm in your head.
Today, we will practice the 4-4-8 breathing method, where you inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, and exhale for 8. Within minutes, your stress will simply melt away.
It’s a simple technique with big benefits: relaxation, better oxygen flow, less stress, a slower heart rate and lower blood pressure, plus improved focus and sleep.
I’ll also share other techniques like pursed-lip breathing and deep belly breathing, which you can combine with this exercise to amplify the benefits. Just a few minutes a day can make a big difference. Find a quiet spot to sit or lie down comfortably, and let’s begin.
