Suspect Arrested After Electric Bike Chase in National City

At approx. 11:10 am, a National City Police Officer spotted a known suspect from various incidents run a “Stop” sign while riding an electric bike at a high rate of speed on Euclid Ave.
The officer attempted to stop the male, who fled south on Euclid Ave, entered the property of the San Diego Rescue Mission, then entered a small canyon with a storm channel.
Officers formed a perimeter and, with the help of the San Diego Police Department ABLE Helicopter, began searching for the suspect.
He was eventually found on Ridgway Dr., where he may live.
The male was taken into custody and started to claim medical issues, and an ambulance was called.
The officers searched his belongings and found meth and other illegal narcotics, and a hand axe.
