In this video, Monica and Peter experiment with a realistic LED line lighting setup rendered in Blender.
Using the Emission & Lighting Calculator Add-on, Peter transforms a simple LED strip layout into a physically accurate lighting simulation. The add-on automatically detects room dimensions, estimates lighting requirements, and suggests appropriate lumens and color temperatures based on room type.

⚙️ Note: When using the eyedropper tool to select two walls, the add-on estimates the room area by calculating the vertical intersections of their logical extensions. This approach provides a practical approximation for quick lighting analysis, but it is not an exact geometric measurement of the room’s floor area.

Combined with the Sweet Home Light Plan plugin for Sweet Home 3D, this workflow bridges architectural design and photorealistic rendering — from floor plan to final illumination.
