In today’s video I’m showing you how I make my aesthetic resin plates using eco resin (Jesmonite-style casting powder). I am using Raysin 100 .
This material is perfect for decorative trays and plates because it’s lighter than concrete and much smoother, without the full weight of cement.
Raysin 100 needs 1 hour to get completely dry once poured into the mold.
Material Ratio:
I use a 2.5 : 1 ratio (powder : liquid).
You can adjust slightly depending on the consistency you prefer.
I like to work gradually, so instead of mixing one big batch, I take small amounts with a paper cup and build the piece step by step. This gives me more control and helps me get a smoother finish.
What you need:
• Eco resin / Jesmonite (powder + liquid)
• Mixing cup
• Paper cups for gradual pouring
• Pigments (optional)
• Silicone mold
• Sandpaper for finishing
Once you unmold it you can leave it to dry for approximately 3-4 days and then you can apply sealer of your choice .
