Maxim emphasised that the SkyLane-350 is a ready-to-deploy, full-stack UAV solution. It includes integrated software such as the ground control station (GCS) and Sky-Drones Cloud and can be assembled in just five minutes. He explained that the aircraft has a maximum takeoff mass of 35 kilograms, but a lighter version with alternative batteries is available to meet weight restrictions of 25 kilograms in Europe (Civil Aviation Authority and EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency) or 55 pounds in the U.S. (Federal Aviation Administration), ensuring compliance with varying regulations.
Ian inquired about SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) support, to which Maxim confirmed that Sky-Drones provides assistance in developing SORAs or operational safety cases, including writing the documentation entirely for clients if needed. This service helps clients navigate regulatory frameworks with ease.
Maxim also shared that most of their clients operate the SkyLane-350 for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) missions, typically in remote or coastal areas or between danger zones where illegal activities might occur. These locations are usually safe for operators to secure necessary permissions.
