Hip thrusts might be your favorite exercise or your least favorite. Pads can make this exercise much more comfortable to do. What kind of pad is going to come down to things like your own comfort level, if you want to use it for other things.
A thin pad will work for those who are not bothered by the bar as much. But for others a thicker pad or even a Hip Thrust Pad might be a better choice.
I like the thicker round one as it stays on the bar and seems easier to set up when working out alone. For comfort I actually prefer the Hip Thrust Pad but I do have an issue with keeping it in the right spot, specially by myself.
