Our visit to Jacobsdal was an adventure that made the five-hour drive completely worthwhile. Upon arrival, we were captivated by the stunning church, which held a remarkable secret: it had served as a hospital during the historic Anglo-Boer War. The sight of a bullethole in the church door vividly reminded us of the intense conflicts that once raged in this area. As we ventured further, we stumbled upon a blockhouse on the outskirts of the town, leaving us in awe of this town that was showcasing its rich history.
