Let's hookup a webcam to a raspberry pi, send images over the radio and view them via email! The Pat email client has a neat unattended command-line mode which allows us to automate sending email with images attachments. Got a remote off-grid cabin and you'd like to see the snow level? No problem, have DigiPi/Pat send an image every day. Want to see the surf? weather? from anywhere in the world? Let's do it!
Get DigiPi: https://digipi.org
Remember to plugin the webcam after connecting your radio.
Commands:
sudo remount
sudo apt install fswebcam
mkdir pat
cd pat
wget https://craiger.org/craiger/radiocam.sh
chmod 755 ./radiocam.sh
nano radiocam.sh # edit the info at the top of the file
./radiocam.sh
... and smile!!
