£42 - IKEA SIDE TABLE HACK- the EASIEST way to do a CONCRETE effect!

I’m so impressed with how this turned out! It was touch and go at one point but it all worked out in the end.

You know me I love an easy DIY hack and this one took a little more time but was super easy.

Here’s how we did it:

1. Buy x1 24cm PERSILLADE - Plant pot, x2 RÖDEBY Armrest tray and x1 SNUDDA Lazy Susan

2. Glue the first arm rest onto the pot
3. Cut the second arm rest with a Stanley knife (if you are using this 24cm pot then you need to cut a section of 7 slats)
4. Glue this section on
5. Clip the sections in place using any type of clip (we used fold back clips) this helps to keep it secure and in place
6. Cable tie or tie rope around the middle parts to keep it in place
7. Once it is dry then glue the lazy Susan on top
8. Use a textured spray paint as a base layer - I used Rust-Oleum Stone
9. Once dry paint one light grey coat
10. Once dry use a sponge and dab on layers of dark grey paint in a cloud shape
11. Whilst it’s still wet dab on layers of white paint and use cloud and stroke motions - keep building and adding until you are happy with the finish.
12. For extra antique and concrete effect I lightly rubbed a wet tea bag to sections and brushed it to create a dried in effect.
